Display Ethernet Statistics
This report displays Ethernet statistics.
Parameter Description
Received Packet Information
packets rcvd Total Ethernet packets received
discarded, RX ring empty Discarded received packets because the internal
Received Packet Ring Pool Buffers are empty;
therefore no incoming packets could be processed
discarded, unrecognized
protocol
Protocol Type field value in Ethernet header does not
correspond to IP
discarded, RX error No. of discarded received packets due to the following
reasons:
- Alignment Errors - Frames containing a no. of bits
not divisible by eight is received and discarded.
- Bad FCS - Received frame contains CRC errors in
the header
- Runt - Received frame is smaller than the minimum
defined for this interface
- Giant - Received frame lengths are greater than
maximum defined for this interface
- Late Collision - Discarded frames because a collision
occurred during frame reception. No. of times that a
collision is detected on a particular interface later than
512 bit-times into the transmission of a packet
- Overrun - Discarded received packets due to the
internal Received Packet Ring Pool are full; therefore
no incoming packets could be processed
